Hi,

I am software engineer having 3 Year's of Experience and working with good Out sourced Product Development Company in Pune, India.

I am planning to give GMAT in November 1st Week 09 .

To getting admission in Top B Schools in USA, does experience matter?

If yes then how much experience and what kind of experience required?

Please guide me.

Dear Gaurang,

Work experience matters to any MBA program. It is not necessarily how much you have or that one profession is better than another. It is important to show that in your tenure you have become an expert in your field and progressed in responsibility. You do not have to change titles, per se, but you must show you have been given more responsibility (increase in budget, staff to manage, etc.) over time.

There are some professions that make up a large percentage of the global MBA applicant pool. IT is one of those professions. So it will be important to find a way to stand out from the other IT folks.

Good luck,
Lisa
