I'm retaking the gmat in 2 weeks, but I don't expect to score anything higher than a 650.

I already have had multiple minority candidates with sub-650 GMAT scores accepted to Columbia in round 1. Also, none of these came from two underrepresented groups. So, a 650 would be competitive for all schools.

Since you already plan to apply to NYU, I would suggest you do so through the Consortium (https://www.cgsm.org/member-schools/) of which NYU Stern is a member school. By applying through the Consortium you will be able to apply to more than one school at a time and be eligible for Consortium Fellowships.

Good luck with the test,

Hi Michael,

I wanted to follow up on this thread. Even though my gmat score did not improve as much as I had hoped, I applied to 6 schools (Duke, Columbia, NYU, HBS, Indiana, and Kellogg). I completed interviews with Duke, Kellogg, and Indiana and received an HBS interview invite yesterday! Still waiting to hear back from NYU and Columbia.
