Hi Divya,
Congrats on finishing your GMAT. First of all, are you happy with your score and does it meet the requirements for the schools you wish to attend?
There is much to do in terms of preparing your application, not to mention a lot of research you must conduct in terms of which schools you want to apply to and which ones are the right fit for you... then figuring out if you qualify (each school has different requirements for work experience - some require no previous work experience, some require a minimum of 3 for example), if you meet their requirements, and if so, what are the admissions deadlines. (To answer your other question, most US schools start in September but some schools, including some international schools such as INSEAD also offer January start dates.)
At Fortuna Admissions (the company I work for) we wrote a great four-part series for the Economist that answers your questions where the advice is coming from our team of experts from Wharton, INSEAD, Harvard Business School, London Business School, Chicago Booth, IE Business School, Kellogg and UC Berkeley Haas. You might be interested to take a read through the articles - you'll find them on our website blog page:
