Negotiating Scholarship

by onmyway10 » Mon Jan 20, 2014 7:13 pm
Hello:

I am writing in hopes of gaining insights/thoughts on whether I should attempt to negotiate my scholarship amount, and if so, the best way to do so. I was admitted to Booth at R1 with a $20,000 scholarship. I am over the moon about this!

My question: should I attempt to negotiate a higher scholarship from the admissions committee? I don't want to leave money on the table just because I didn't ask, but I also don't want to make a bad impression if this type of negotiation is frowned upon.

Additional context: I also received a $20,000 scholarship from Ross and a full-ride scholarship from Ohio State.

What do you think? Is it worth it to ask for more money? Has anyone had any success negotiating their scholarship?

Thanks for any thoughts!
