Admissions in last round

Hi,

I want to start my mba program this year itself and was aiming for top 25 programs in US for the same. I took gmat on 31 dec and scored 640. Can't give any excuse for getting a low score. Just want to know if I retake gmat by 10 February and suppose I get about 720+ and then apply in last round to few good programs say Tuck, Cornell, Kellogg or darden will I be considered or not. In great dilemma as what to do and what should be my next plan of action, as I don't want to waste another year. I request experts to Please help me on this.

Well good sir,
The first thing to think about it WHY you don't want to wait another year, and whether those are good enough reasons to justify rushing things. Usually they are not, especially if your GMAT is way lower than what your potential score is. In such a case, the only really good option is to bite the bullet, retake and apply with your better score.
