I hate to reveal my profile to other people because they always accuse me of bragging.
I do not brag, in fact, I am a bit insecure of who I am.
However, Now, I feel desperate enough to know what should I do with my apps.
How to position my strength and cover my weaknesses
I am 23 years old, male from a country in South East Asia.
Will apply in 2014 and get in for 2015
Standardized score:
GMAT 730: 50/39 (Taken in october 2012)
TOEFL iBT: 109 (taken in 2005)
GPA: 3.64 (Plus Honors) Transfer GPA 3.96 (graduated 2012)
I took 22-24 units per semester and I completed the whole "college" in 2 years from University of Southern California. And undergrad transfer from a college up north.
Achievement:
- 4 years Scholarship from government, top in the accepted list (Have the proof)
- Verified IQ at age 15 of 149 (I lost the paper though)
- National Math Olympiad - Bronze, Junior section (this is not International Math Olympiad)
- University Honors
- Dean's honor list (in the list)
Abilities:
- 4 languages natively spoken + 4 more in learning (intermediate & basic)
- Understood mathematical programming
- Web design and programming
- Took MIT OCW to study engineering(electrical, civil) and business school stuff (operations, finance, etc) About 2-4 hours a day nearly everyday since 2011
Work Experience:
- Importing & Exporting industrial products since 14 years old
- Opened a consulting business that ultimately fail (although I am getting paid enough to live)
- Taught Mathematics Olympiad and American Math Competition in USA
- Work in a foreign Securities company, and learned directly under the boss
- Work in my parent's business, turned over 2 businesses to profit
- Earned a few million USD for my family's shareholders along the way
- Head a JV negotiation with foreign firm.
- Will work in Deloitte starting 2014 (because I was told to absorb the knowledge there)
- Will be second in command when my family go IPO in 2015
Volunteer:
- Teach math for free to anyone(since 2005)
- And a bunch of little good things
Sport:
- None (I have conditions that restricts me)
Fun facts:
- Family is affluent enough to be in the richest in the country list, but very obscure, because we hate snobs who show off wealth
- I survived a week long jungle survival with only water, knife and lighter
- I now the president, minister, etc of my country, I can call them/ask favor if absolutely necessary
- My friends are amongst the top 100 families in the country
weakness:
- My English language ability, although many considered as sufficient, is clearly lacking in coherence or grammatical perfection
- I can't stand it when someone is crying
