by roshan567 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 12:08 am
Hey guys
I retook the GMAT prep test 1 by resetting the software twice(second time I clicked the reset button bu mistake) and i encountered many duplicate questions. Hence i am a bit apprehensive to take the the practice test 2 as I dont wanna waste time in answering the same questions. Please advise

Hi roshan567,

I wrote an article ("Taking the GMATPrep Practice Tests Multiple Times") that specifically addresses this question: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/03/ ... iple-times

You'll see about 6 duplicate questions per section, which isn't bad. However, if you remember the answer to a duplicate question and enter your answer immediately, you'll unfairly give yourself extra time to answer other questions, and this will inflate your score. So, if you retake a GMATPrep practice test and see a duplicate question, be sure to wait 2 minutes before entering your response. This will result in scores that more accurately reflect your skills.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi roshan567,

It's not clear from your post, but did you actually take the GMAT Prep2 CAT already?

Hi roshan567,

Each of the two GMAT Prep CATs draws from a different "pool" of questions, so you shouldn't see repeat questions from one CAT to the next. If you retake a CAT, either on purpose or accidentally, you will almost certainly see some repeat questions.
