Should I postpone my test?

by sowra » Mon Nov 18, 2013 11:13 pm
My GMAT is scheduled for this Saturday. I haven't prepared much and on the diagnostic i scored a 520. Should I go ahead and take the test on Saturday and then retake it a month and a half later?
OR
Should i postpone the test and take it in the first week of january?

Hi sowra,

Since your test is less than 7 days away, there's not much time for improvements or adjustments. There's no harm in taking the Test on Saturday, but since you haven't prepared much, you shouldn't expect any measurable improvement in score. There's certainly some value in "experiencing" the GMAT, so it wouldn't be a total waste. The bigger question is: what is your score goal?

Another couple things that you should keep in mind are

1) Schools sometimes frown on taking the test more than three times.

2) Schools like to see a progression in your GMAT scores. So before you take the test another time make sure that you've really improved.

Cheers!
