Reasons for Applying

by GoBruins » Tue Aug 19, 2008 11:43 am
Can one of my reason for attending a school be location??

I am applying to columbia, and I really like New York. I understand that columbia likes to standout from wharton, Harvard, so would it be a bad idea to emphaise the location?

It is not a negative to say location, but it is not the best reason. If you can justify using location as a reason by showing how it is the best location for your career, then it is reasonable to include location as a reason for applying. Generally, schools are looking for you to explicitly demonstrate how their program is the best fit for you, both professionally and personally.

Good luck,
