Empower GMAT course: what do you think?

by mayada » Sat Nov 02, 2013 2:01 am
Hi everyone,

My name is mayada, i am from Egypt so i am not a native english speaker.I have taken the GMAT and scored 620 , that was last year after studying for 3 months, solving the entire OG, All MHTN books, all MHTN exams and of course CAT exams of MBA.COM.

I figured out that self study didnt pay much and i read a post about someone who scored really well and he took the empower gmat course, so i decided to sign up.

Does anyone have feedback on the course, do you think it is enough to prepare for the GMAT? does it really pay off and pake a serious jump in scores?

Highly appreciating everyone's support and feedback:)

Hi mayada,

While I'm certainly biased about what I think that the EMPOWERgmat Course can do for you, I stand by the results/improvement of our clients. While you're probably more interested in another user's experience, I'm happy to answer any questions that you might have during your studies. As with any course that you might use, the amount of work that you're willing to do (to absorb the lessons, practice the tactics, etc.) will be a big factor in your overall progress. Make sure that you have enough time to study and we'll help you improve.

Hi Rich

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I am definitely interested to know your opinion too. Honestly, the GMAT is starting to be a serious pain and hurdle towards achieving my dream. I took the GMAT 2 times, and since i didnt score well (550, then 620) i lost 2 years of my life studying and not getting one step closer to my dream because the schools i wanna apply for definitely require 700+

I am willing to do whatever it takes, i just dont want to lose more time. I signed up for the 2 months plan, I am now day 16. i have a feeling that for the quant, the practices of empower GMAT helped me to solve some problems more efficiently, however for the verbal i dont see any progress so far.
I would be greateful if u can answer these questions for me:
1. Is the course sufficent on its own as a studying material, or should i take it as one element besides for example working on MHTN books, any other study material, etc?
2. My weakness is the verbal (i normally score between 31-32), does the course provide any tactics that could enhance my performance considerably?
3. Does the course provide online support, such as having a call with the instructors for needed explanations, inquiries...etc?

Thanks a lot
Regards
Mayada
