Hi mate,

Thanks for all the information but before I respond - one question. Have you taken the GMAT yet?

Hey there,

You sure did - sorry for missing that! You definitely have some great aspects to your profile, especially when it comes to extracurriculars. I can't tell if you're part of the start up, Report Bee? If so, that's fantastic as well. Start up experiences can be a good source of learning experiences, regardless of success - but if it was successful, then even better!

Your involvement within your firm is also well rounded. From basketball to the Advisory Council, you seem to have a lot of bases covered.

What I can't quite tell from your post, however, are two things: 1) how do you rank compared to your peers? Are you a 1? 2? 2) what leadership experiences have you had at work in a professional setting? I know you said you were a release manager but what does that really entail? Teams or just deliverables? Also, anything else?

I'm pretty optimistic on your profile, however, because if you tackled work the way you have your other involvement, then you're probably in pretty good shape. Ideally, I'd love it if you GMAT score started with a "7" and you had another year or so of work experience BUT you have some things that help set you apart from the pack and that could work in your favor.

I think you need to be honest about two things in assessing where you stand and I can't answer these for you.

1) Will your second GMAT get you in the 700s? It has to. If it doesn't, you should postpone.
2) Will your next year at Deloitte exponentially, or even linearly, improve your profile? By that, I mean will your growing responsibilities significantly improve your story and give you some great experiences to speak to? If so, and the answer is probably yes, then you should look to apply next year.

With 2 years in, you're really in no rush. If you pull the trigger prematurely, you're just going to find yourself in the reapplicant pool and that's not the best of places. You're in a great career with a brand name firm so I'd say really focus in your GMAT and then make a decision at that point. If you have your new score in hand by the end of October, you'll have enough time to put forward R2 apps if that's the route you choose.

Harish,

I echo Bhavik's comments. Anna University is known as a strong school and 8.75 is a strong CGPA. Now you need a GMAT score commensurate with this academic background so you should be aiming for a minimum of 700 and hopefully higher. After you get your 2nd score, let us know and then maybe we can gauge the competitiveness of your candidacy. Also, knowing your goals would be helpful too.

Good luck,
