GMAT Score:640
Hi,

I just gave my GMAT y'day and scored a not so good 640 (V33, Q46). I goofed up the RC section ( I know I am terrible at that). Not sure if I should re-take. Thinking to give a shot (inspired by a lot of low score yet got a good college stories) and apply for the following courses (and if doesn't work out will retake working on my RC). Request to help me understand my chances.

ESSEC - MBA in international luxury brand management
SDA Bocconi MBA - Fulltime (want to take up 'track in Luxury Management')

My Profile
1 - 2.5 years experience in Fashion & Lifestyle with 2 years in early stage start-ups at a decision making/strategic making. One of the startup's revenue ~8Cr annually in first year of operations.
2 - Master in Fashion Management from NIFT (one of the premier institutes for Fashion Studies in India) with a GPA of 8.98/10 (3rd Rank of 254 MFM students across NIFTs with Semester GPA of 9.78 in 3rd semester exams, among top 7% students over all)
3 - Graduation from Delhi University (Hansraj College - one of the best in India) in Chemistry Hons with 62%
4 - Recommendations from Brand Director & Creative Director in the company I interned with in Masters (India's leading apparel company - Madura Fashion & Lifestyle under the brand Louis Phillipe)
5 - Recommendation from Finance controller from the first Start-up i worked with (she was my reporting manager too)
6 - Working as a marketing manager right now.
7 - Positions of responsibility held/Leadership (College) -
ï‚· Coordinator, Student Placement Cell (NIFT)
ï‚· Class Representative (NIFT)
ï‚· Pioneered a Handmade Card Business Unit with colleagues & organized a successful stall at Annual Cult Festival, NIFT.
ï‚· Coordinator, Organizing committee, the Graduation show event (NIFT)
ï‚· Secretary, chemical society, Hansraj College.
ï‚· Organized the first edition of Chemical society fest, KEME, Hansraj college (participation of >100 students from colleges in Delhi)
ï‚· Department's coordinator of the team which managed the Students' Affairs, College Placement cell at Hansraj College.

One line reason to apply for Luxury Management - Interest in Business of Fashion and Fashion Marketing.

Could someone also suggest me some colleges for the same?

Well, any school in Paris Milan Ny Tokyo would work, but you did hit upon the schools with the most famous fashion programs. I'd also give a hack at HEC Paris, which is another logical choice.

Just FYI, you have this FIT/NYU short program here: https://designentrepreneursnyc.com/program.html (although it's not at all a full on academic program, but you may find it interesting).

I'd say your plan of trying it out with your current score now, and then retaking if things don't go well is a good one. You may have less than the average GMAt, but you fit perfectly, so go for it on the virtue of your background and essays, and see what happens!

A 640 GMAT score is a little low for an Indian applicant, even considering you are applying to less selective schools. For example, SDA Bocconi has an average GMAT of 664 overall which means that the Indian average GMAT is most likely significantly above that score. Therefore, if you have time, I would suggest you retake the exam prior to applying.
