Hello Experts

I badly need your expert advice.

My background
Undergraduation
Bachelor of Management studies,University of Mumbai expected results in June 2014.(currently in third year which is my final year)(Majors in Finance)
Higher Secondary Certificate, 12th Grade - 06/2011
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, 10th Grade - Awarded 06/2009

I have done Maths in my first year which included Mathematics 1 semester(Probabiltiy, Basic Calculus, Statistics, Matrices and Algebra) .

The Big problem!
Pre-requisites mentioned on Univ of Illinois website

What is needed to apply for MFE.

Bachelor's Degree or Bachelor Equivalent - Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance
1 Year of Calculus
1 Semester of Linear Algebra and Differential Equations
1 Semester of Probability and Statistics
1 Semester of Programming (preferably in C/C++)

I want to get into Financial Engineering and the course has various pre requisites that are not provided at my undergraduate college. So what can I do to fill those pre-requisites as I strongly want to do the MFE course? After mailing the university they told me that courses should be given credits in your transcripts now I can not show that. So what should I do?

I checked certain courses and found coursera . May I go ahead with the accrediation programmes it conducts on calculus?

Please guide me.

I would recommend for you to let the admissions staff at University of Illinois continue to guide you. They are accustomed to questions about meeting eligibility. So, you should politely ask them if accreditation by Coursera would be sufficient.

Also, you might wish to consider other MFE programs, especially those in which you meet their eligibility requirements.

Good luck,
