Need Serious Help in Verbal - 650 Q50V27

I just took my first GMAT and received 650 (Q50V27)...
I've scheduled 2nd GMAT for the first week of November and I need to completely re-strategize the verbal part of the exam. Any advice from the experts would be greatly appreciated...

I'm completely lost, I've always thought that I was decent in all parts of the Verbal : SC,CR,RC. It seems like I need to start from the ground zero and attack the basics again. Does anybody have a great a month study guide to follow?

I'm desperate at this time, any advice would be helpful.
I'm a hard worker, will follow any guide-lines.

Appreciate your aspiration about your goals... Q50 is a dream for many and trust me 650 is also a great score. But what was on with the Verbal ? Were the verbal Qs way off than the Mocks that we generally see in the GMAT Prep tests ? Could you put some light on that pls ?

Did you join any course to give the touch ups on verbal ? You may consider the e-gmat course, which is good so far as SC is concerned. I am not sure about RC myself. For CR I think the CR Bible does a good job in breaking down the CR questions and understanding into small pieces.

Since you do not have a lot of time left and your verbal score is quite low,I think it'd be best if you go for a few tutoring sessions. A good tutor would provide you a structured framework to tackle the issues that you are facing in various areas. Studying on your own may or might not help so take your call.

With whatever else you are doing in this one month, make sure you read, every day. Pick up the Economist(science and technology and Lexington sections) or Scientific American and read articles earnestly like you want to learn them. Do it the first thing in the morning and before you go to sleep.
This will have two positive effects
1) Your RC will improve and your speed will go up.
2) You will start getting used to the sentence structures. On SC questions , having an "ear" check is helpful(though not always). The verbs and tenses will start sticking in your mind.

Though you have a few weeks only, if you follow this approach you will definitely see improvement in your RC and SC approach.
