Executive MBA - What to do next?

Hi All,
My apologies if there is already a forum for that.

My Background:
I am in IT having 8.5 years experience. I am looking for Executive MBA from Kellogg.

Steps to follow:
what I know is - I have to give GMAT first and then IELTS? My first language is not English, however I have done my studies in English.

Can you all please let me know if 2014 timelines can be achieved?

If your goal is to APPLY to Kellogg in the fall/winter of 2014, then you DO have enough time to prepare. You'll probably find it easier to prepare for 1 test at a time though, so if the GMAT is what you decide to do first, then you can get started now, without any "time pressure" and earn a score that will put you in a competitive position to apply to Kellogg.

Hi Monikasharma,

Not all schools ask for the IELTS. For Kellogg it seems that their executive program asks for the TOEFL unless you've taken certain English classes. If you're not sure if your classes are sufficient you can always send them an e-mail.

Is the TOEFL required for admissions?
Yes. Applicants whose native language is not English must either take the TOEFL (IBT format) and obtain a score of 100 or better; or take the equivalent of English Composition 101 and 102 at an accredited U.S. College or University. Those students who have completed graduate studies at a U.S.College or University may have the TOEFL requirement waived upon the approval of the Admissions Committee."

Go ahead and take a practice test for the GMAT to see what your current level is. Then get some strategy guides, go through them, and then start working on practice questions.

I am targeting Kellogg Schulich Executive MBA. Please provide some informartion or tips to get admission into this. As per their website, course starts in Jan 2014 so I think I can't acheive that. I need to prepare for Jan 2015. Thanks in advance!

Yes, my first aim is a good score in GMAT. I just want guidance to see i have set my goals correctly. I will first focus on 700+ in GMAT. In the meantime, need to confirm on IELTS.

If you're interested in more information about Kellogg, I'd suggest that you contact Kellogg, visit the campus and take a tour. If you're interested in specific admissions advice for a highly competitive program, then your best bet is to work with an Admissions Consultant.

Hello again!
So to start you should take a practice test. Manhattan GMAT and Veritas both provide a free practice test. After you're done you'll see what your level is and then you'll know weather you should start with the very basics (like some of the foundations of GMAT math books) or if you can start with the medium level books. I generally think the Manhattan books are pretty good.
