MIT Sloan Essay 1

by j.abhishek88 » Sat Sep 14, 2013 11:52 pm
Hi,

I have a doubt concerning MIT Sloan's first essay question -

Essay 1: The mission of the MIT Sloan School of Management is to develop principled, innovative leaders who improve the world and generate ideas that advance management practice. Discuss how you will contribute toward advancing the mission based on examples of past work and activities. (500 words or fewer, limited to one page)

How many stories would be optimum for this essay / How many stories would Sloan be expecting the applicants to talk about - 1 or 2 or more? - keeping in mind 500 words limit, I feel more than 2 would not justify the depth attained in each of the stories. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Abhishek

There are really no hard and fast rules about this essay. Fine to give just one example, in which you can dive a little deeper and reveal more about yourself. I would say more than two, however, as you already suggested, might leave it too light on details with the restrictive word count.
