Hi vinay1983,

While this is NOT a GMAT question, it does use "system math", which is an Algebra subject that you'll see in a few Quant questions on Test day.

You have to translate the sentences into "math" to solve:

I'll call...
H = Price of Half Ticket
F = Price of Full Ticket
R = Reservation charge

Here are the formulas you'd form:

H = F(1/2)

Since each ticket has a reservation charge attached to it....

F + R = 262
F + H + 2R = 405

Now you have 3 variables and 3 unique equations, so you can solve using algebra and solve for R....

Try it and you'll see....

Final Answer: 24

Full ticket price = 2H + R

2H + R = 262_____________(1)
(H + R) + (2H + R) = 405
3H + 2R = 405_____________(2)

(1) * 3:
6H + 3R = 786___________(3)

(2) * 2:
6H + 4R = 810___________(4)

(4) - (3):
R = 24
