Hi and thanks for posting,

It sounds like you have had strong management and operations experiences over the past 2 years, and that you have a career plan in mind that makes sense given your background and experiences, all of which strengthen your application to business school. You've done a great job quantifying your accomplishments and achievements which is important on a b-school resume as well, fyi. While you have fewer than average years of work experience, as long as you can talk about the quality of the experiences that you've had, which it sounds like you hopefully can, that does not have to be a huge weakness per se. It also sounds like you have managed to get a lot of volunteering in which is a plus, especially if you can passionately and genuinely discuss your involvements.

With strong application essays, I believe you would have a decent chance at the schools on your list. Other schools you may want to research given your operations interest include Tepper, Ross, Kelley, or McCombs.

Good luck to you! Keep us posted on questions and progress.

Hello Jennifer,

Thanks for your positive feedback. I am working on the essays and hope to convince the adcom my matuirty above my age. I would have added Tepper and Ross to my list but they dont seem to be realistic considering the competetiveness and expense. I do have one more question. what percentage of applicant are invited for interview ? One thing that dissapoint me is that even if the average GMAT score of a bschool is 650 , for Indian applicant, one doesnt have a descent chance unless he/she crosses 700

In terms of being invited for interview, it really varies based on the schools. You can probably find that info on each website or ask the admissions office. Some schools invite a lot more and some get it really narrowed down before interview invites.

It is true that the average GMAT for Indian IT/engineering applicants is pretty high. I wouldn't say you are out of the running with a 680 though, especially at your target schools. If worried you could try again, but at this point it probably makes sense to focus on your application.

Good luck to you!
