Hi manpreet singh,

This DS question is based on some Number Properties (based on Exponents). The question should say this:

Is a/b < 0?

1) a^2/b^3 > 0

2) (a)(b^4) < 0

We have a YES/NO question that essentially asks if the variables (a and b) have the same sign or if they have different signs (and there is the possibility that 0 could be in there).

Fact 1 tells us that the fraction is > 0. This tells us that a CANNOT = 0 and that b MUST be positive.

If a = negative, then the answer to the question is YES
If a = positive, then the answer to the question is NO
Inconsistent = INSUFFICIENT

Fact 2 tells us that the fraction is < 0. This tells us that a MUST be negative and that b CANNOT = 0.

If b = negative, then the answer to the question is NO
If b = positive, then the answer to the question is YES
Inconsistent = INSUFFICIENT

Combined, we know that b MUST be positive and a MUST be negative. This is enough info to answer the question.

Final Answer: C
