Hi Piku,
Thanks for posting. If I am understanding correctly, you would like to know some tips on how to make the most of interactions with MBA program representatives & students/alum from a distance?
It is certainly a good idea to gain interaction with staff, students & alum at programs you are looking into, to get a feel for what the program is truly like. If you are unable to visit the campus, ask what info you can get about classes, curriculum, sample assignments or syllabi, maybe even an opportunity to sit in on or view a virtual/online or taped lecture of any type (ask the admissions office about these options). Read student and alum blogs about the program (you'll get great insight into the 'feel' and experience of going there). Questions to ask staff/professors/admissions might be: 'what do you feel the strengths of the program are? Who is the program right for? Who is the program NOT right for? What changes do you forsee in the next 3-5 years? What is the students culture like?' etc. Questions for current students alum might include: 'How would you describe the student experience or culture? How competitive is it? What are the strengths and weaknesses? What would you change about the program if anything? What do you wish you knew before you started? What have been your favorites classes (professors, projects, activities, clubs, etc)?' and so on.
Hope that helps!
