Dude! Your profile is a wee bit ont he thing side,
I'd LOVe to help you out, man, but I need more INFO!

I certainly don't know enough about your work experience, and then the other things (volunteer work, community service, extra curriculars, entrepreneurial experience, family background) are not clear to me either.

It's a wee bit hard for me to tell you exactly where you can get into because I am missing information from you. Can you write me back with the following info:

1. Exactly what your position is, how your performance is, whether you have any leadership experience, how many promotions you have had, what extra curricular experience you have, what volunteer work you have
2. Can you elaborate on what your goals are - what are your short and long term goals? Why do you want to go to business school?

If you can give us some more info, I can help you better.

Looking forward to hearing from you, my friend.

Hi Karthik,

You are in right stage of your career with 5 years of work experience and MBA from top b-schools will add value to your profile. If you are targeting top 10 b-schools then I would suggest you to retake GMAT parallel to your application preparation. Essays and recos are integral part of application so you should target schools like Kellogg, Wharton, Booth, NYU Stern, Columbia, LBS in UK, Rotman in Canada and some safe schools like Rochester Simon, Rice university which are known for finance. Let me know if you have any questions

Regards,
Manish

When you say Resident of U.S. do you mean Permanent Resident (as in green card) or work visa (and residing in the U.S.? The reason I ask is it bears greatly on your admissions. If you are a Permanent Resident you would be evaluated versus domestic U.S. applicants as opposed to the more competitive Indian applicant group.

You probably already know this, but you really want a more competitive GMAT score as a candidate from the Indian applicant group.

What are your goals post-MBA which will help us suggest some schools? Also, another option is NYU Stern part-time MBA program which is less competitive than the full-time program. In addition to their Finance specialization (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admis ... /index.htm), NYU Stern's part-time program also offers specializations in Financial Instruments and Markets (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admis ... /index.htm) and Financial Systems and Analytics (https://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admis ... /index.htm).
