Postpone?

by snigdha1605 » Sat Jul 13, 2013 8:14 am
Hi,

I have my gmat 2 weeks from now. So far I've given 4 MGMAT mocks and my scores have been in the range of 670-690. I have given one official gmatprep mock and gotten 720.

Would it be wise to postpone my exam by a couple of weeks based on the performance in mocks?

Can any of the experts please advice?

Thanks.

That depends on your target score. If it's 680, then things are looking good for you. If your target score is 790, then you might want to reschedule. You can reschedule your test up 1 week before the test day (for a $50 fee), so take some more practice test to see where you stand.

I typically suggest that students achieve their target score on at least 2 practices tests before they take the official test.

Cheers,
Brent

Thank you so much Brent :)
You have no idea the dilemma I was in. I know I can cross the 700 mark. I know I can!

I would take it - the MGMAT tests (in my opinion) are a little harder than the real thing, particularly the verbal, so that 720 on GMATPrep is likely a good indicator of where you are. The 700 barrier is a huge barrier, but once you've crossed it on a reliable practice test you're likely to stay there, barring some attack of panic or overconfidence on the real thing.
