can't achieve target score on practise test

by kuzzden » Sun Jul 14, 2013 1:12 am
Can someone pls suggest me a better way to increase my score:

What I've done:
-started with 580 score in April;
-finished Aristotle Prep books, Manhattan advanced math and GMAT OG 13;
-all practise tests now show results from 640 to 660, but my target is 700+
-reviewing mistakes from practise tests reveals that I know how to make mistaken problems right, but don't do it. So maybe it is lack of strategy skills or lack of time that pushes me to make mistakes.

My exam is in one week, so the result is quite predictable, but I'm going to beat the GMAT anyway

What is a better way for me to continue? Take preparatory courses with an instructor to learn the tricks/strategies or buy other books from different resourses and try to improve the score that way?

Thank you in advance!!!

It sounds like you're on the right track. You've already improved your score by about 80 points, and that's great. You might just need a little more time to get to 700+

I typically suggest that students achieve their target score on at least 2 practices tests before they take the official test. With a week to go, it's unlikely that your score will improve 50 points, so you might consider rescheduling. You can reschedule your test up 1 week before the test day (for a $50 fee).

Cheers,
