Hi guys,
so here is my "problem". Maybe someone can give me good advice and motivation on my stuff
.
I started studying for the GMAT last year when I graduated from college (note: I am west-European) for a month. Because I did some internships, I stopped studying during this time. As you know, if you are in a new company for the first few weeks, it is stressful because everything is new. In addition, I came home very late (normally around 10 p.m.), so I even did not study in my spare free time (I was happy if I could eat a bit, surf the internet for half an hour and then fall to bed like a dead person
).
After this internship I had one month free, where I started again studying for the GMAT until I started my full-time job at another bank. At my new bank, the working hours are not so bad (I get off around 7.30p.m., at home and done eating around 8.30 to 9) so I decided to start with the 60 day challenge.
The first few days were ok, where you only have to watch some videos and take notes on how to solve certain problems. I mostly had all this already done during my former learning time. But when the challenge got serious, with answering 30-40 questions a day I completely struggled and could not make it anymore. These are just way too much questions for me to solve after a day at work. I feel that I am not concentrated anymore, I am tired and my mood is getting really bad.
That is the point where I am right now. I clearly see that I do not have enough time to take on the 60 day challenge. In the description it says something about 2-4h every day - time that I do not have every day. Especially not "qualitative" time, when your mind is fresh and you feel good.
So by today, I really do not have any motivation to study anymore for this test. Especially when I saw the result of 510 of my first mock test (the one you take at the beginning of the 60 day challenge). For studying a total of around 2-3 months, 510 is just devastating. A further big problem is that I did not see any improvement (I guess I would have scored sth around that without studying at all). From the score I saw that I do not have just one particular weakness. In general, my overall level is just extremely low (verbal & quant). This all depresses me a lot!
Now I ask you, how I should proceed?? Any strategies (!), insights and motivational stuff is highly appreciated!
The background for taking this test is, that I would like to do a Master in Finance at a top school in Europe (thinking of some business schools in GB). So my target score is the magical 700...
If you need any additional information please let me know
Absolutely appreciate any answer.
Best regards,
mott
