Strategy to study?

Hello

I'm a 26, Male, from India. I've an experience of working in a mechanical industry of about 4 years. I've been studying for GMAT since the past two weeks. As per my plan, I want to write GMAT in the last week of July'13 or 1st week of Aug'13, so that i get enough time to work on my profile before putting my applications in various universities. Although my studies are going on in full swing, I still believe i'm not going in the correct direction. I plan to take my first GMAT practice test which is available on www.mba.com, this sunday.

I'm flexible in fixing a date for the official test which can go up to 20th Aug'13.

Meanwhile, can somebody please tell me about some strategies, if possible, that I could adapt in, so that I could achieve a good score, may be in the range of 710+?

Hello Mr Brent

Thanks a lot for the advice. As mentioned in the previous post, I took a test today.
I scored 48 in Quantitative Review and 28 in Verbal Ability, and overall 620 in this test.
I guess 48 in Maths is a decent score, with definitely some scope of improvement. But a lot of hard work needs to be put in to improve Verbal's score. And as I was checking the outline of those 60 emails, mentioned by you in the previous mail, I figured out that it would be difficult to cover sections like CR & SC in 6 days time each. RC is something, which I really am poor at.
Kindly suggest how to improve my score in Verbal.
