Profile eval pls

by Step2 » Sat Jun 22, 2013 9:48 am
Hi Clear admit,

Please evaluate my profile. Am looking at one year courses only(targeting 2014 intake)

Male, Indian
GMAT score - 720 (V -40, Q - 49, AW- 4, IR -8)
Age - 30
Work ex (in June 2014) - 8 years

Profile Details -
Completed undergaduation in commerce (74%). During this time, served in the National Cadet Corps, and took part in various inter-collegiate cultural activities (am a guitarist).
Worked in sales in an FMCG / consumer goods company for 2 years. This was in front line sales management.
Completed a 2 yr MBA in one of India's top 10 institutes.
Worked for 6 years now in India's biggest FMCG / consumer goods company. Have handled a variety of sales and marketing roles. Have worked on brand management roles across different categories - foods, personal care, etc. Roles have included handling cross functional teams on new product development, product launches, portfolio relaunches, digital and social media marketing, and e-commerce.
Feel that an MBA, from a premier global school, would open fresh possibilities and provide me global exposure for my career. would look at a career in global brand management or consulting post passing out. Also (partly because i feel i have enough experience and partly because i cannot take more years off) feel that i should look at a one year course only.

1) Need advice on which courses to apply to. How good are my chances to get into the Kellogg 1 Y course. Which other one year courses should i apply to?
2) My GPA would be low (<3 on a 4 scale) as we are rated on a percentage system. Is this an issue and can it affect my chances?
3) While I have gone through your recommendations on your site, what is it that i should focus on in my essays ?
4) I would be 32 yrs old (in 2015 when i intend to pass out). would this be a disadvantage ?
5) Is my AW score of 4 low?

Thanks !
