How to research the alumini connection ?

by wilderness » Sun Aug 10, 2008 6:11 am
Hi,

I am a telcom engineer and want to continue in the telecom industry and rise to the senior management level. So for me its very important to do an MBA from a place that has a strong alumni presence in the telecom service industry.

Is there some ranking that would list the alumini connections in that way ? Schools do mention where most of their students went in the last year or 2 but I havent found a description about the overall alumini.

Does anyone have such a list ?

Thanks.
Regards,

Hi W,

Thanks for your post. I would contact the school directly. They should be able to point you to someone in their alumni affairs office who could provide the information you need.

Also, depending on the school - they might have a telecomm (or general tech) club that would be a good resource of information. One of my clients had a similar question for HC recruiters and was able to speak with students from the HC Club that provide good insight into alumni connections/recruiters in the space.

Good luck!

You should also check out school websites. There are often links to alumni clubs throughout the country/world. This will at least give you an idea of where the alumni are and how they maintain ties after graduation.
