Breakdown of most frequently tested topics on the GMAT?

Hi Rebecca,

With thousands of GMAT tests being taken over the years, a pattern can be drawn regarding what subjects are tested more relative to others. For example, knowing Number Properties usually represents 20% of all Quant questions versus Probability that represents 10%.

Is there a chart or diagram that you can point me to with this kind of analysis?

I have a little over a week before my GMAT and I would like to ensure that I spend the most time on my weaknesses, but also on the questions that are more likely to occur (compared to the rest).

The best bet you have is looking at the breakdown of questions in the OG.

Here are the top topics in quant from my view:

Factors and Multiples
Fractions
Exponents and Roots
Statistics
Systems of Equations
Linear Equations
Percents
Inequalities

These sections cover about 1/2 of the questions in the OG.

Hello, serendipiteez. It sounds like you have a good handle on the types of information being tested in the quant section. As far as your question about there being a specific formula or ratio of question types, it's not really an answerable question. The best advice is for you to take plenty of practice exams and get a good handle on all the question types so that you will be well-prepared to answer any questions you might encounter during the exam.
