If i and j are integers, is i + j an even integer?

1. i < 10
2. i = j

1) tells us nothing about j....insuff
2) only tells us that i=j insuff

if we take them together. we only know that i<10 & i=j insuff

i could be odd or even and j could be odd or even
i<10 doesn't help

i+j=i+i=2*i
Every odd or even integer multiplied by 2 is an even integer, it's sufficient.

silly me.. pepeprepa, you are correct...the little things i overlook

Just take fast examples it can help
2+2=4
3+3=6
And you see it is even
