Thanks Stuart, I have actually researched this info but do plan on asking specifics. I should have probably done this when I first posted the question, but here is a list of what I already have:
Program specifics: student to professor ratio (average class size), professor availability, flexibility of independent study option, class availability (what is carried is not always offered), certifications and classes involved. I will probably come up with a few more as I review my notes before the actual visit.
Career questions: how involved is the career management office, what opportunities are made available on campus (networking, career fairs, etc.), what specific industries recruit most, how heavily certain companies recruit, how quickly do students usually secure a position (do students receive an offer well before their time of graduation), how soon does the career management process start as part of the program (I would like to start it from day one).
Student life: where do most graduate students live, what are the living arrangements, how flexible is housing around the campus and what is the cost, what - if any - meal plans are offered to students, are there many places around campus where one can purchase groceries (this would be a stupid question at an urban campus, but is a pretty valid question for a school located in a suburban area), I will also ask questions about facilities - housing, computer labs, research labs, gyms, etc - as I am given a tour of the campus.
Misc: are there many opportunities to serve as a research assistant, what other part time positions are available on campus, what are the most popular student clubs on campus and do they organize their own career events in addition to those organized by the business school, what transportation is available to conveniently travel between the campus and outside areas (again, more relevant to a suburban campus), what opportunities are there for study abroad, perhaps the school organizes 2 or 3-week visits to other nations during which students get a chance to hear from industry representatives as well as governing bodies.
Financing: what programs are available on campus in order to gain additional funding - that outside of grants, scholarships, and federal loans; is the school aware of any institutions that offer scholarships to students that pursue a specific career track, etc.
These are some of the questions that I would like to ask when visiting schools.
NOW, if anyone has anything to add, please do so.
