IT Business Analysis

by manu217 » Wed Jul 23, 2008 12:23 pm
Hi, I would like to get a job as a IT business analyst (functional business analyst to be specific). I have about 4 years of functional software testing exp in various domains, including client interaction exp. I have been advised to do an MBA for getting into this role, but have no clue which programs in the US / UK are good for the same. Could someone help?

I have done R&D on the course curriculum of top US programs and Oxford and Cambridge in the UK. Found that most colleges are too focussed on finance and so are MBA aspirants in most forums!! what kinds of jobs do MBA grads do in other sectors, specially IT?

Any business analysts / MBA grads in IT out there, who can help? I would be grateful for any insightful replies.

Thanks in advance.

I am a Sr. IT Business Analyst -- I do not have an MBA yet...but I do have a masters in Information Systems -- so an MBA is not necessarily required for this role.

Please let me know if you need more information. Also, have you checked out the IIBA Web site? You can find a lot of valuable resources this way.
