Pepperdine vs. LMU?

Hi - I'm planning on attending either Pepperdine or LMU (they're both a good fit for me a location, cost and competitiveness stand point). However, I can't figure out which seems to be a better school with a better reputation. My gut instinct from attending info sessions at both is that Pepperdine offers a better quality education, but at a much higher cost. Pepperdine runs around $85,000 total while LMU is closer to $60,000. Is it worth spending the extra $25,000?

Does Pepperdine have a better reputation, ranking and alumni network to justify spending the extra money? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

$25k is a lot of money; personally, we don't see the Pepperdine brand being worth that much more. Of course, the ocean views might be!!

If you're not getting significant scholarship money from Pepperdine then we would have trouble seeing the ROI there. You could do some analysis on starting salaries in your target post-MBA career; check the respective schools' placement reports for the data. And talk to people, students and alum and the career services folks, and see what they say. A lot goes into a decision of which school to choose, money shouldn't be the only deciding factor, but you could get a decent car for $25k right?

Great advice on doing the due diligence with each school as the previous comment suggested. I am a Southern California resident, Tuck at Dartmouth grad. Having worked at Fortune 5000 countries in SoCal, and also doing interviewing for those companies and for Dartmouth. My opinion, is that the Graziado/Pepperdine brand is stronger in the SoCal area. So, if you want to remain int he greater Los Angeles area, I believe it is a more recognized brand than LMU.
