Hello All,

GPA - 73% from a top tier Indian Engineering School (I think thats around 3.3 GPA)
GMAT - 600 (Quants 37, Verbal 35) (I know :( ).5+ years experiences in the Software Industry. Worked as Developer,Tech lead and Consultant for big IT firms. Managed teams of offshore and onsite resources. Sure to get very good recommendations from my Clients, Managers and Peers.

Extracurriculars -
Very good quizzer. Was part of the College Quizzing team.
Part of high school and college Cricket teams. Helped organizing Blood Donation camps right from college, as an executive member of the Rotary Club, and continuing to do so at work.

Interesting personal facts -
Born in the Middle east, relocated back to India for education.
Experiences learnt adapting to the social changes therein.

Unusual Personal interests -
Not sure whether this is unusual but I am very passionate about the Interactive Entertainment Industry and keep abreast of the industry through developer conferences, seminars and journals. Able to relate my personal professional experiences to some of the reasons for current industry trends.

The Reason for doing an MBA -
Break into Marketing side of the Interactive Entertainment industry. I am looking at some decent schools which would offer me a fair chance of getting there.

Do I stand chance?
What is the target list of schools that I can look at with this profile?

Thanks in advance.

Dear catchnvampire,

I'm not sure which programs are the best match for your career aspirations. You should be looking at schools that make the most sense for your desired career. Being an engineer from India in the IT industry does put you in a challenging position as your profile makes up anywhere from 25-60% of most schools' total applicant pool. With a 600 GMAT and 73% in your undergraduate studies, your numbers are quite low compared to the other Indian engineers in IT. My advice to you is to identify the schools that are a good match for your career goals and retake your GMAT to get a score above the GMAT averages for those schools. Then spend considerable effort on your essays, resume, and interview preparation.

Best of luck,
Lisa
