A - The fact that - seems to be a better option.
B - second that after namely looks awkward.
C - antecedant of it is not clear.
D - antecedant of it is not clear.
E - although is not perfect but seems to me the best option.

Posted OA does not seem right to me because

preposition + noun + participle form is a no go on GMAT hence C & D can not be correct

I think the answer is B
