If you look at both the triangles you can determine the height and base of each triangle without doing any calculation

triangle MLN' height = 12, base =12 (14-2)

therefore area = 1/2(12)(12) = 72

triangle PQR's height = 4, base=4 (10-6)
therefore area = 1/2(4)(4)= 8

8/72=1/9

Hence A is the answer.
