I am IT architect(12+ exp.) consulting in enterprise technologies. I am passionate about technology and in long term I see myself as a CTO\CIO of a large organization. My dilemma is that I am undecided about the MBA program. I have received an admit to Kellogg's part time MBA program. However the program does not offer concentration in Technology\Product management. Even though the school is quite far from where I am on east coast, I am considering applying to FEMBA program at UCLA- Anderson (Flex schedule) because it offers these specializations. Someone also recommended me a technology management program from Columbia University - but it is Executive MS and not a MBA. I am curious to know how relevant these specializations are if one is looking for career progression in technology sector. And, as matter of fact how relevant are other core courses? If I apply and get admitted to Anderson or Columbia, I will have to choose between a school which has a better brand recognition- Kellogg vs school(Columbia\Anderson) which offers curriculum that aligns with my goals. Please advise.
Kellogg or Anderson for Technology career post-MBA

Well, given your goals, Anderson does seem like the best choice - I mean it is after all their specialization. Plus their location is pretty awesome for tech people. And keeping your goals in mind, it makes sense. The question is (and I don't have this answer) whether it is worth it to give up Kellogg. And really it depends on what you want - where you want to be, what you would be doing in the meanwhile, whether your firm is sponsoring your MBA, and whether a fulltime MBA might not be preferable etc....
