How to interpret Yale's GMAT jump

Yale's average GMAT jumped from 700 for class of 2009 to 718 for class of 2010.

I figured I was pretty competitive with my balanced 700 GMAT (Yale being my first choice), 3.55 magna cum laude in university, and good WE and EC (not amazing, but good). Now with the new average (and low admit rate) I figure that my dreams of attending are a pipe dream. How freaking depressed should I be? Sighhhhhhhhhh :?

Yale's jump in scores is indicative of the increased competition to get into top MBA programs. However, you should not be discouraged. You are still solidly within the middle 80% range of GMAT scores. You should get started on your application as soon as possible and focus on creating stellar essays that really communicate who you are.
