I think 'A' wins here.

Reason : revealed that.... suffering from...

"suffering from" is the right idiom, so that leaves us with A and D. D misplaces "that" and make it makes it feel that the study of food resources revealed the creatures, but they study revelaed something about the nature of the food resources. So my pick is A. What's the answer?

here we r talking abt a study which was done in the past.
now "increasing sea surface temperatures" indicates that the temperature is still increasing.
hence usage of "increasing" is incorrect.

therefore eliminate A C n E.
D - ".......revealed creatures of the seabed ................." changes the meaning of the sentence.hence incorrect.

hence IMO B.

Thanks!

IMO (B)

Though "Suffering from" is correct IDIOM, but in this sentence the author likes to state the reason of the actions due to which it suffering. He doesn't mentioned the type of suffering.

For example,

He is suffering from fever. (Correct)
He is suffering from his old sins. (Incorrect)
He is suffering because of his old sins. (Correct)

What is OA?

loki.gmat,

I did think about it but I wasn't so sure since the sentence did say "suffering" which I beleive is also a continuing process instead of "suffered". I thought we needed increasing if we were to satisfy the continuing action of sufffering. Can you please clarify this if possible, appreciate it.
