A business bought R typewriters at $100 per typewriter and S calculators at $50 per calculator. What is the total cost of the typewriters and calculators?

1 The S calculators cost $200
2 2R+S=10

From the question stem, we need to find the value of 100R + 50S.

Statement1: 50S = 200 => S = 4. No information about R so its insufficient. Left with option B, C and E.
Statement2: 2R+S = 10 is a eqn with 2 unknowns. The information from the stem does not help. So its also insufficient. Left with option C and E.

Substituting the value of S = 4 from statement 1 into eqn in statement 2 gives R = 3. Now total cost can be found.

Hence C.

I could be wrong, but I think the answer is B.
