Re look at the choices (C) & (E) now. Which is looking better and more clear to you?

In choice (C), A Madagascar periwinkle derivative, it is not clear that about what we are talking about, that is, whether derivative of Madagascar periwinkle or Madagascar periwinkle itself as a derivative.

If author has used the it something like this A Madagascar periwinkle's derivative then sentence would be acceptable.

C states that a derivative of Madagascar periwinkle is coltivated in China while not the derivative is coltivated but - as E states - the Madagascar periwinkle is coltivated in China

I just did this one yesterday and got it wrong....and yeah reason is onlu E says the madagascar prewinkle.....<modifiny>...is cultivated in china...

Rest all talks about derivative or substance being cultivated.
