by Sandman » Thu Jul 10, 2008 4:22 am
Hi guys,
i just took the practice test on the princeton review website and got a low score of 530 with 84%(31 out of 37) correct on quants and 59%(24 out of 41) correct on the verbal sections.

can anyone please provide me a study plan to get my score to 650+ in two months time?? Im taking the test on the 2nd week of september...Thanks.

Thats very little information you've provided.

Check some other threads to get some idea of how much info usually required to assess.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. Let me give you some information about myself.

Basic Things:
Im 23 m from Kathmandu, Nepal. A recent graduate with cgpa 3.6 with finance and marketing as specialization areas. Im thinking about appearing for the gmat on the 2nd week of september.

Books i have:

1. Princeton Review 2008
2. Barron's GMAT 2007 - 2008 (is it any good?)
3. GMAT Official Guide - 10th edition ( one of my friends has it so ill get it with a few days)

The story so far:

Ive been preparing for the last 2 weeks now and as maths has always been my weakness ive been concentrating heavily on it. Since Ive already gone through the Princeton Review book and a few high school math books for some basic maths, I took one of Princeton's online practice tests today.

I got a low score of 530 with 84%(31 out of 37) correct on quants and 59%(24 out of 41) correct on the verbal section. I want to get 650+ and have about 8 weeks left before i take the real test. (by the way, is it possible for me to get 700+ as a non native english speaker and only 8 weeks time?)

I think Im average on both the GMAT sections - verbal as well as quants. What sort of study plan should i follow ??

The OG might be your best bet for studying. Also, look at Kaplan Premier Edition. Since you have little time, I would brush up on the concepts that you need help with, focus on those, then take more practice tests.

Do you have a better breakdown of your score report such as:

Quant: PS, DS, specific areas such as: statistics, number properties, algebra etc...

Verbal: CR, RC, SC

and so on?

I don't know if Princeton actually does that kind of breakdown, but if it does not you might go and try manhattan gmat's free online evaluation test. It will give you a much better clue as to what you should tackle.

Hope it helps.
