Didn't beat it (670) 42 Q 40 V / when can I retake?

Firstly, took the GMAT today and did not get the score I wanted (700+). When is the soonest I can retake this exam? I thought I read on the board that it is done by calendar months and you can take it ASAP next month (i.e. took it today, can take March 1st).

I called the gmat number and they said I must wait 32 days. Any advice? Thanks.

Secondly

I'd also appreciate some tips on how I can pull this 700+ off.

I took the Kaplan class and have been studying for the past 4-5 months.

Kaplan tests I was scoring 560-610 (moving up with each test). Months ago.

Gmat Prep test last week - 690
Gmat prep 2 - 700

I should add that I have been sick with a cold the past two days and feeling fairly out of it. Test day stress also hurt me in the Quant section especially.


Any tips on how to continue studying and when I should re-take. Used up Kaplan tools and GMAT Prep Tests now. Also did OG 11 once, and a focused Kaplan 800 run-through (sentence correction / quant).

With regards to your first question--yes, you must wait at least one month to retake your test. I've heard 31 days, but perhaps this policy has changed to 32 days.

It looks like you are within striking distance of a 700. I think that your physical condition during your first test certainly contributed to your performance.

My advice is to keep reviewing your material to make sure that it is still fresh in your mind. If you haven't done so already, I recommend creating flashcards of key GMAT concepts and reviewing them daily. I also recommend reviewing OG11 again--be sure to carefully review your errors and try to diagnose patterns of weaknesses. In your next month, you should work on identifying where you can improve and practicing these weak areas.
