More than required recommender

by pdshah » Sun Dec 02, 2012 7:25 pm
I have already finalized my standard recommenders (3 for HBS, 2 for Wharton).
I have two other really good contacts (senior executive level) that can provide some good recommendation for me. One of them offered to write up a paragraph or two about my leadership skills which I think will help my application. However, I am not sure if I can put this along with my application (not sure if the system will allow me to upload them even).
What is your general though about adding an extra bit of information/recommendation like this?
Thanks in advance.

Extra rec means extra work for the adcom, you should do it carefully and look for the school instructions on this. I found this article about submitting extra recs, hope this helps: https://www.aringo.com/emails/emailExtraRecs.htm

Do not send additional information unless the circumstance requires it aka - waitlist or something. Think about it.. if everyone offered up extra information then they would be swamped. I also heard from a certain school that it shows that you can't follow directions.
