WHY IS B INCORRECT?

other choices qualify the ability rather than scientists which is what it shud actually qualify ..
because I feel the scientists can become accurate in predicting and not the ability become accurate ..

But the initial choice indicates "ability of scientists" to be accurate.

Also "scientists have become able to provide ever more accurate....." sounds awkward......
