by Dymolek » Mon Jun 23, 2008 7:54 am
Hi,

My friend would like to apply for a Full-time MBA program in HKUST. Does he have any chances?

His profile
Male, age 30, Polish

BA in Business - US University
BA in Management and Marketing - Top Polish business school
Low GPA - 2.6 but he was made American 4 year degree during 3 years time.

GMAT 710

He did exchange for one semester to Germany - top school in Germany majoring in International Business. Scholarship ERASMUS/SOCRATES

He did 3 internships in UK in Hospitality with very successful track record, he was one of the youngest Jr Managers in Michelin Star restaurants. He went to UK with any knowleadge of English.

He had own company in Poland.

Currently he work for a Fortune100 company for 3 years as a Program Manager in Silicon Valley, US.

He speaks Polish, German, English, Russian.

He wants to brake into management consulting or Ibanking sales role in ASIA - and learn Mandarin.

Best Regards,

Thomas

Dear Thomas,

Your friend needs to see how he measures against the class profile for HKUST. His work experience and GMAT are solid, but whether he receives admission will depend on the entire package. It would also help him to research what HKUST looks for in its applicants to know what to emphasize in his application.

Perhaps other members with more knowledge of HKUST would like to weigh in as well?

Regards,
Lisa
