:) interesting one.

Let's do a POE.

(A) A substance from the licorice plant, 50 times sweeter than sucrose, was recently discovered
50 times sweeter than sucrose modifies licorice plant which isn't the intended meaning
(B) A substance, which was recently discovered, from the licorice plant, 50 times sweeter than sucrose,
50 times sweeter is modifying the substance, looks like this might be correct.. let's see the other options
(C) A substance from the licorice plant, which was recently discovered to be 50 times sweeter than sucrose,
Seems like Licorice plant was recently discovered to be 50 times sweeter... not the one we're looking for
(D) A substance from the licorice plant, 50 times sweeter than sucrose , which was recently discovered,
same problem as (a)
(E) A recently discovered substance, 50 times sweeter than sucrose from the licorice plant,
wrongly saying that sucrose is from licorice plant

B is the only one left. Is the OA B?

in B - "50 times sweeter than sucrose" is incorrectly modifying "licorice plant".

hence IMO E.

Thanks!
