Might an MBA in Entrepreneurship hurt placement chances ?

Hi,

I have a 3 yr old moderately successful start-up in my profile

Confident of making it to a top university,Im planning to pursue my MBA With Entrepreneurship as a major course.Then after I would like to take up a job for a period.

My question is, does my course in E'ship hurt my chances during placements/recruting as the recruiters might assume I might not be with them for long, or the company be less trustful in the ways I be given opportunities once recruited ?

Not at all. First of all because your "Specialization" is something you may keep to yourself if you wish. Far more important is the institute you have graduated from and the skills you have accumulated both at your MBA and prior to it.

So in my present situation,is it a wise thing to select colleges that are good in General Mgmt or operations and strategy(My main areas of interest next to E'Ship) and apply to them? And then after,on admit, I will do an E'ship course ALSO, but i choose that it will not reflect on my profile.

Is it a correct thing to do ?

Well, the majority of top Bschool programs are strong in general management (although its true that a few have a finance focus). I would say it depends on your goals. What would you like to do after you graduate? And in the long-term?

Post MBA, I would like to take up employment for a good 5-8 yrs before (nd if)taking an entrepreneurial path. I like jobs where I have the opportunity to do challenging things like 1.Improving the work around times, Improving process saving time and costs etc.

From what you have written, honestly any school that you has a good program would be good for you, so you should think about which schools fit you personally in terms of location, program, prestige, teaching methodologies, etc.
