Data Sufficiency - OG13

I bought the OG13 before starting the prep and got the OG12 PDF for free along with the book. I have a question for all the GMAT experts and those that have sat for the actual exam or taken multiple CAT's. How would you rate the DS set on the OG13 ? Is it difficulty level of the questions indicative of what a person scoring 46-48 on the Quant section will encounter?

The questions in the OG12 and OG13 are arranged in ascending order of difficulty. So, only the last few pages of DS questions will be in the 46+ range.

Having said that, those questions will be indicative of what you will encounter on test day.

Thanks for the clarification. So assuming that The test makers have given us around 30-40 46+ questions ..we can safely assume that according to the test statistics around 50% of the test takers who scored scored 46+ got them wrong while the other 50% got them right??

I'm not sure about the actual success rate for these questions. You might want to post this question in the Ask the Test Maker forum (https://www.beatthegmat.com/ask-the-test-maker-f71.html)

I'm assuming that you want some confirmation that, if you are correctly answering 50% of these questions, then your math score is in the 46+ area. Is that correct? If so, the best way to gauge your current abilities is to take a practice test. Trying to determine your score by answering OG questions is hard, since you may be taking more than 2 minutes to answer each question. You may be only answering a few questions at a time, while you are required to answer 37 math questions in a row on the real test. . . . etc.

You nailed it !

Although i do time these questions and guess as soon as the clock reaches 2 minutes and move on. I got 23 out of the last 30 correct, which is a lower percentage than my success rate with the last three to four dozen PS questions and this bothers me because i have covered DS on Kap 800 as well and my rate is about the same while it is trending upwards in the PS section. Safe to say that DS gives me the most anxiety out of all the different things tested on the GMAT...

I will be taking the GMAT Prep CAT 1 next week, and will use it to estimate where i currently stand 1.5-2 months into my preparation. Although i have access to Both MGMAT and Kaplan CAT set i will be taking the GMAT PREP to gauge where i stand and how far i need to go...
