430 to 730 How in three weeks

Hi,

I have scored 430 today and I am appearing for the final test on 28th of November, how should I go about it?

Please post your split here verbal and quant, so that we know where you did better and where not. Also we would need to sub-divide your prep so as to identify your weak areas.

Focus and determination along with the following is all you need now !!!

1.5 MGMAT QUANTS strategy books- Go thru everything / every topic in two weeks.
2.Kaplan verbal workbook- Exercise extensively in first 2 weeks and read the explanations.
2.OG 12/13 + OG VERBAL + OG QUANTS-Last 30 questions from each book(verbal&quants both)
3.GROCKIT Practice (25 questions / set,mixed difficulty level)for each quants and verbal at a time.

Revision after every 3 sets, same day !

4.Prayer.
5.Sound sleep + healthy food.

A 300-point increase in 3 weeks is almost unheard of. I typically suggest that students achieve their target score on at least 2 practices tests before they take the official test.

Until you can score 730+ on the practice tests, I suggest that you postpone your test date.

A score of 430 suggests that you are still lacking some of the core concepts. Are you using some kind of error tracking tool (e.g., Improvement Chart at https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-error-log) to identify your weaknesses?

If you can spare 2 months before rewriting the GMAT, you might consider signing up for BTG's free Study Guide: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide. This will help you stay on track and ensure that you cover all of the necessary concepts that the GMAT tests.

I scored 22 in verbal and 26 in Maths!

You need to work on both buddy.

Quant
You need to work a lot on basics before you again jump onto questions. Re-do all the basic revising give 2-3 hours to each sub-topic and focus more on where you do not understand a principle or a formula. There-after it is just raw practice wherein each practice session should be followed by an incisive analysis of which areas you are weak in.

Verbal

Sentence Correction (SC)
Preparation: Manhattan® SC 2007 edition, is an amazing book, one may call it the SC Bible as it prepares you exhaustively for SC.
Practice: Go through the GMAT® Official Guide (OG-12) for SC & understand the
concepts through Answer Key. Re-do all questions, if possible. Please pay
significant attention to idioms as questions on them are tricky but relatively easy.
Modifiers also require significant attention.
Aim: Achieve accuracy greater than 85% in all practice sets.
Important Tip: Don't spend equal time on all types of SC questions. Practice all of
them initially & identify your weak areas. Focus your efforts more on these for
more robust & efficient preparation.

Reading Comprehension (RC)
Practice: Practice from all possible sources as a lot of raw practice is required to
ace RCs. Practice at least 100 RCs before you attempt a mock now.
Aim: Read easier passage in 2-3 minutes & understand the basic gist of it. If the
passage is really tough you can take up to 4 minutes. Do not rest until you
achieve accuracy > 85 % in all practice sets.
Important Tip: We also advice against jumping to questions first & then looking
for answers in the paragraph. Reading essay first makes answering "main point"
& "summary of essay" questions seem like a cakewalk.

Critical Reasoning (CR)
Preparation: Critical reasoning Bible by PowerScore®, helps with all CR basics, and the CR basics are very crucial to cover before you start attempting questions.
Practice: All GMAT® Official Guide (OG-12) questions alongside reading the Bible.
Aim: Achieve accuracy greater than 85% in all practice sets.
