Hi all,
Am new to this great and extremely useful network for MBA aspirants and am taking the GMAT on 7th Nov 2012 with an aim to pursue a MBA in general business from one of the many reputed B schools in US.
Am 33 and work primarily as an orthopedist currently managing a few clinics besides consulting in private and also work for few organizations for social causes. Have recently done some community related work for tribal health and HIV patients. Besides professionally I travel for fun and experience and in addition to getting the right set of skills and fresh thinking am also looking forward to a new culture and place.
Though information on the net abounds, for a pen and paper type of person like me that much info sometimes is overwhelming. I get confused when more than 6 windows are open on my computer! In fact most of the times on the internet i see posts and news pushing the MHA degree or such. I'm not at all interested in MHA, i find it narrow in scope and lacking in many practical aspects of training in business and administration. So my query boils down to this: does anyone know which B Schools should be a priority for doctors aiming at a career change(full time MBA) or should a doctor go ahead prioritizing on current rankings in general?
Of course I am also looking at regional economy trends, other factors which are personal to anyone like places where i know people, weather and such, opportunity to participate in social causes and other community based initiatives.
Please drop your comments however short, even if you feel they do not hit the query on the spot. I welcome anything that will help me have a better perspective.
Once again congratulations to the admins and members of this network for the good work.
